Crew tackles Rotary Mile

The Rotary Highway Cleanup crew had a great morning gathering the trash on the club’s Roswell Rotary Mile 116-117 on north U.S. 285 on April 12.
“Perfect temperature, no wind, and we picked up 22 bags of trash,” said Gordon Patton, cleanup chair. “There was no coffee or doughnuts left over.”
Rotarians Jon Hitchcock, Steve Henderson, Frank Sturges, Betty Young, Bianca Cheney, J.P. Cheney, Steve Smith, Charles Currier, Richard Altans, and Gordon Patton participated in the cleanup.

Deputy chief to speak at club
Mike Taylor, deputy chief of the Roswell Police Department, will speak at the April 10 Rotary Club meeting at the Texas Roadhouse.
The club will meet each Thursday in April at the Texas Roadhouse, 3611 N. Main St.

RHS football coach to speak
Jeff Lynn, head coach of the Roswell High School football team, will speak at the April 3 Rotary Club meeting.
Lynn will discuss football and the youth of our community.
The club will meet at the Texas Roadhouse, 3611 N. Main St.

Highway cleanup on April 12
Club volunteers will meet just before 8 a.m. for coffee and snacks at Mile Marker 116.3, about one mile north of the overpass on U.S. 285.
It takes an ideal group of 12 people, a minimum of about 1.5 hours, to walk our mile on both sides of the highway. Your participation is encouraged to help keep our Rotary Mile from being trashy!
Gloves, trash bags, and safety vests will be provided.
Shelton to speak March 27
Rotarian Karl Shelton, executive and CEO of the Boy Scout Conquistador Council, will speak at the March 27 Roswell Rotary Club meeting.
