Roswell Rotary President Chris Lauderman received the prestigious Cliff Dochterman Award during the Oct. 3 club meeting.

Yasser Murga, Rotary District 5520 governor, made the presentation.

“The International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians awards this recognition to exemplary Rotarians and Scouters,” said fellow Roswell Rotarian Karl Shelton, Conquistador Council Scout executive and CEO, who narrated the award presentation.

Karl said the award has been presented internationally to slightly more than 1,000 people since its inception in 2005.

Rotary clubs and local Scout councils nominate recipients.

Chris has served in Scouting since his youth when he earned Eagle Scout rank.

During his tenure as president, Scouting membership has grown to its highest level since the Covid pandemic.

The award is named after Cliff Dochterman of Moraga, Calif., a leader in Scouting and president of Rotary International.
