Flag football subject of talk

Brandon and Brittany Williams will discuss the upcoming “Not of This World Flag Football” tournament during the May 1 Rotary Club meeting.


They own the Brandon Williams Farm Bureau Insurance Agency.


The club will meet at The Liberty Inc., 312 N. Virginia Ave., during May.

Students honored for essays

Jace Ingram receives a $100 first prize check from Rotarian Bianca Cheney.


Three Mountain View Elementary Students took the top three places in the Roswell Rotary Four-Way Test essay contest.


The students were recognized and presented checks at the April 17 Rotary Club meeting.


• Jace Ingram received a $100 prize from the club for his winning essay.

• Dakota Holladay received a $75 prize for second place.

• Genesis Moreno received a $50 prize for third place.

Taylor to speak at Rotary

Brian Taylor, financial advisor for MassMutual in Roswell, will speak at the April 24 Rotary Club meeting.

The club will meet at the Texas Roadhouse, 3611 N. Main St.

Club honors Student of Month

McKenzie King was honored on April 10 as the club’s Student of the Month. McKenzie was introduced by Roswell Rotarian John Drusedum, past District 5520 governor.

Crew tackles Rotary Mile

The Rotary Highway Cleanup crew had a great morning gathering the trash on the club’s Roswell Rotary Mile 116-117 on north U.S. 285 on April 12.


“Perfect temperature, no wind, and we picked up 22 bags of trash,” said Gordon Patton, cleanup chair. “There was no coffee or doughnuts left over.”


Rotarians Jon Hitchcock, Steve Henderson, Frank Sturges, Betty Young, Bianca Cheney, J.P. Cheney, Steve Smith, Charles Currier, Richard Altans, and Gordon Patton participated in the cleanup.

NMOGA president to speak

Currier
Missi Currier, president and CEO of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, will speak at the April 17 Roswell Rotary Club meeting.


The club will meet at the Texas Roadhouse, 3611 N. Main St.


As a veteran government affairs, community development, and strategic communications professional, Missi’s understanding of the state’s political climate has allowed her to champion energy, tax, regulatory, and economic diversification issues throughout the state.


A native of Carlsbad, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University.

Deputy chief to speak at club

Mike Taylor, deputy chief of the Roswell Police Department, will speak at the April 10 Rotary Club meeting at the Texas Roadhouse.


The club will meet each Thursday in April at the Texas Roadhouse, 3611 N. Main St.
