Cynthia Price, coordinator of behavior health services with the Roswell Independent School District, will be the guest speaker at the May 25 Rotary Club meeting.
Cynthia is a licensed social worker and behavior specialist, and is active in the National Guard.
She and her team at RISD have implemented parenting classes entitled “Triple P Parenting.” As a result of these classes, other area agencies are training staff and referring parents to this parenting program.
Cynthia is also a trainer in crisis prevention, focusing on verbal de-escalation strategies. She is an expert in autism and is an advocate for students with disabilities.
Steve Smith, Roswell Rotary Handicapped Ramp coordinator, is asking for help from fellow Rotarians.
Steve asks that volunteers contact him at (575) 420-2100 by voice or text.
Volunteers will meet next Friday (May 19) and/or Saturday (May 20) at 8 a.m. for 3-4 hours each day to work on a new handicapped ramp. Steve will brief volunteers in advance on work locations.

L.J. Harrell, RISD Safe Schools liaison, will speak at the May 11 Roswell Rotary Club meeting.
Harrell, a retired police detective and narcotics agent, oversees school safety and security for the district, providing active shooter evacuation training, coordinating with local law-enforcement agencies, and working with schools to develop safety plans.
In addition to his police background, Harrell taught middle school science.
